How you doin’, Keith! The answer "Fabulous!".  Stand-up comedian and Sirius OUT Q radio personality, Keith Price recounts his experiences on his quest to find success, his experiences as a person of color, growing up gay in Texas, and his adventures in dating in the big city.  It’s part biopic, part documentary, part monologue and it only cost $700 to produce.  EBONY CHUNKY LOVE: BITCH CAN'T GET A DATE, combines Keith's act, interviews, and cultural analysis, while offering a funny and intelligent commentary on issues of class, race, and body image.

The message of the movie is that sometimes the best road travelled is the one that allows you to be true to yourself, to find your own path and become the role model when and where there are none.

EBONY CHUNKY LOVE is ready to make you laugh, cry and think all in one tasty serving!

Starring Keith Price, Bobby Rivers, Dr. Mako Fitts, Dr. Gary Perry

Written by Keith Price

Directed Ronnie Tristan Rentería

This film is Rated R for off color subject matter and graphic language.

I am writing to let you know that I may have some good news!! I just got off the phone with someone at the Unitarian Church and even though it isn't definite yet they may be willing to offer us a place to show movies dealing with GLBT issues once a week for free starting next year.
We thought this would be a great opportunity to offer the gay community and those supporting the gay community a chance to watch movies that represent the GLBT community.

When do you have free time on the weekends?  I am thinking of asking for their permission to show these films on Saturday afternoons from around 3pm-7pm.  This way people can bring refreshments and a notepad and pen.  We can have a mixer before the movie and discussion afterwards.  Yolanda

This is the E-Mail I recieved on Sunday Jan 10, 2010

Great news!!! Armoire theater is a go!!!!

Saturday February 13, 2010 from 3pm-7pm.
We will be showing our first movie, "A Touch of Pink!"

It is about a gay Muslim man living in London who was born in Kenya but raised in Toronto.  He has a lover and is a successful set photographer.  His life seems to be going hunky dory until his mother decides to visit after the news of his cousin's upcoming marriage.  That is when the fun begins on so many levels.

Please tell all your friends and let them know that it is taking place at the Unitarian Church next to the Lone Star Bank on Paredes Line across the street from Oyster Bar.  Also, tell them to bring notebooks and a pen because we are going to have a discussion afterwards and if they see something they want to talk about or something they want to bring up, they can.

From 3-4pm, it is a meet and greet.  People get to know each other and socialize and it gives people a chance to get situated before the movie begins.  The movie, depending on the length, will be shown from 4-6pm.  Then we have an hour to discuss the movie and what we thought of it. I will have a few notebooks out so that people can put down their contact information and also for their movie suggestions.  I was sorta hoping most of them would be romantic comedies, independent films, something that people do not see every day.

There will be refreshments(chips, sodas, bottled water, cookies, etc).  If people offer  to bring something for the next event like soft drinks, or if they want to bring a cake or something more substantial, they are more than welcome to do so.

The church has an offering box where if people want to donate some money to the church for providing the place free of charge, that is perfectly fine.  Grady will be there to take the funds as he works directly with the church.

The purpose of this is to provide GLBT community with a safe place to gather outside the bar.  My friend, Maribel, put it best when she said she was wanting to grow the GLBT community outside the bar in a healthier environment, which is sorta what I gathered from what you said to me previously.

There will be no Unitarian proselytising so no one has to worry about being converted or brainwashed about how bad homosexuality is.  This is a very open minded church and the people are awesome. They are so open-minded some of the people on the church board are interested in getting a PFLAG chapter started in the area.  So that might be something you or your friends might be interested in.

Please let your friends know and please show up if you can.  I know your schedule is quite a mixed bag so I totally understand if you can't make it.  Yolanda

Thanks for everything
